Painful Skyline

From Wikipedia: Itasha (痛車, literally "painful car") is a Japanese term for a fashion of individuals decorating the bodies of their cars with fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games (especially bishōjo game or eroge). These characters are predominantly "cute" females. The decorations usually involve paint schemes and stickers.

It is what it is. I have no words. If you like it, good for you, I suppose.

I daresay it doesn't look terrible on this 180SX. If only the character depicted was an adult woman, not a child, because you know the owner has had a long session with 'Mrs Palmer and her five daughters' while looking at pictures of that character.

While the thought of driving one of these things is rather painful. I must say. This is designed and wrapped well. I quite like that pearlescent green pattern.

time

I bought a watch. It tells the time accurately, It has an alarm and it was dirt cheap. Yes I could have gotten something better, but I'm going to lose it anyway, so there is no need to drop more than I have to.

Kabukicho - The Morning After the night before #TokyoStreets

The thing about blogging, is you have to do it. Unlike instagram, where apart from staggering posts, there is very little upkeep. This can become quite tedious at times. Though it is where everything all started for me, so I feel like I need to keep it going... Which is more than I can say for the peeps in the first two photos.

This last picture is of an evenly matched group pf guys and girls (one of the dudes just dashed off) looking terribly sober and lacking any other signs to hint at any group (or individual for that matter) debauchery. I know peeps are not getting it on as much as before but when you have matched pair dates in Kabukicho overnight at  least  make sure you do something

Incidentally, if you haven't followed me on instagram, you probably should.

Gundamnit! #RandomJapan

This is the giant model of the plastic toy robots that all those annoying peeps from my childhood obsessed over. If it weren't for tourist friends wanting to see this thing, I'd probably never have gone.

First and Last Odaiba Gundam.

WHY JAPANESE PEOPLE!

When you don't pay attention in English class, a simple signage fail can become hatespeech.

"F*** OFF" (sorry, i have to censor myself because google are b****es when it comes to adsense) is the brand name of the company that makes these (probably knockoff) band shirts. They have two shelves, one for local bands and one for foreign bands, but because the person who wrote this sign, like too many people in Japan, slacked off in English class. They know enough to put words down, but not enough to realise that there is more to meaning than simply using the words as they are directly translated.

The result, predictably, is somewhat amusing.
Even more so when the sign is seen by thousands of international tourists on one of the most famous tourist streets on the planet!

Most painful Itasha yet #TokyoStreets #JapaneseRides

I've seen some really sad Itasha in my time here, and I didn't think they could possibly be more painful to look at, then this guy drove past. On the one hand, the fact that Itasha drivers do things which are against the norms of society, makes me happy, but the things they do are so...きもい that it leaves me feeling like I need to wash my eyes out with soap. To each, his own?

I suppose even Itasha are better than bicycles.

Souvenirs for Initial D fans #BecauseJapan

Mt. Haruna in Gunma Prefecture is famous for playing the role of Mt. Akina in Initial D.

For the tiny town atop the mountain this means a good deal of tourists head up there to drive  the legendary mountain pass, take their ladies on dates to the lake and buy souvenirs, like these Initial D cookies and cakes. On a Shoot for Takasaki City, I had a chance to go up there during the day for a change, and (as I wan't driving) didn't blast past the town at pace, on my way to the ura-haruna mountain pass (which is an epic driving road) as I used to do back when I lived at the bottom of this mountain... So I got to take these pics ;)
